Limited edition Haute Couture garments. In an increasingly sustainability-conscious world, Genny Spadea represents an example of how Haute Couture can reduce its environmental impact without undermining elegance. With colors that evoke the Mediterranean and our peninsula, his Liberty Collection is not only a tribute to beauty, but also an invitation to reflect on a more conscious and responsible approach to fashion. In fact, the Liberty Collection represents an ode to the Italian coastline with colors ranging from white sand to volcanic sand, via warm sunset hues and sea reflections. High-quality materials, such as silk and cashmere, result in exclusive garments in limited production.
One of the brand’s distinguishing features is the use of reclaimed fabrics from stocks of prestigious Italian textile companies. Materials used include silk, cashmere, and velvet, which would otherwise have been destined for pulping.
“This process makes it possible to create limited-edition garments, such as shirts, trench coats and skirts, transforming each piece into a unique product,” says Genny Spadea. In fact, once the fabric runs out, it is not possible to reproduce the pattern, thus increasing the value of each garment.”
The inspiration behind this philosophy stems from the desire to combine environmental friendliness and luxury fashion, reducing waste and digitizing as much as possible. Production is also designed to minimize waste: garments are made with a preference for one-size-fits-all or adaptable sizes in order to reduce unsold inventory and improve fit.
“Increased wearability,” the designer explains. means being able to please more people while having less left over. By opting for one-size-fits-all and, at times, unisex as is the case, for example, with kaftan or kimono-style dresses and even trench coats, we are able to please more customers and reduce unsold inventory.”.
This focus on sustainability also extends to the presentation of the collections. During trade shows, digital catalogs accessible through QR codes are used, minimizing the use of paper and opting to use recycled paper whenever possible. This concept celebrates the meeting of art, fashion and sustainability, giving each garment the value of a true work of art to wear.
